Allied Beverage Group’s new hybrid corporate headquarters and distribution center transformed a long-vacant brownfield site into a state-of-the-art facility. Its proximity to Newark Airport, Elizabeth Seaport, rail, and major and local highways allow the leader in wine and spirit wholesaler to facilitate extremely efficient and sustainable distribution.
our approach
The architectural design focuses on uniting workplace and distribution, combining 100,000 square feet of corporate office and 500,000 square feet of warehouse space and industrial workplace. Integrating office suites, training facilities, and revolutionary automation and logistics technology, the facility extends beyond the average distribution center. Allied Beverage includes custom alchemy and wine rooms where employees can take workshops and enroll in training programs to better understand the product and enhance their customer outreach initiatives. Wood tones were selected for the interior to create a hospitable feel that distinguishes the offices from the warehouse sector. The introduction of large windows over the loading dock, where the majority of warehouse workers spend their day, introduces daylight to the work floor adding warmth and light, elevating the quality of workplace. The warehouse also employs an automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS), breakthrough technology that makes for efficient loading and distribution. Additionally, six rail dock doors service the building as part of the rail spur system for loading product onto freight carts. A rooftop solar array fuels the majority of the building’s operations, enabling Allied Beverage to be sustainably powered and recognized as a LEED Silver workplace and distribution hub.
